On this 3-day tour from Marrakech to Fes and the Merzouga Desert, we take you through southern Morocco, over the High Atlas Mountains, past numerous Berber villages and to the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During your stay we will travel along the Rose Valley Route and Ouarzazate’s Route of the 1001 Kasbahs. We explore the Todra Gorges, visit a Berber town and ride a camel through the Sahara. In Merzouga Spend the night at your Sahara desert camp under the stars, then travel through the Ziz Valley and the cedar-lined Middle Atlas Mountains to Fez.

Itinerary of 3 days tour from Marrakech to Fes

Day 1: Marrakech - Tich Ka - Ait Ben Haddou - Dedes Valley (335 Km)

Breakfast. Departure into the High Atlas Mountains. Along the route, the landscape changes little by little without you hardly noticing. From the strong green of the valleys to the red ocher of the Col de Tizi N’Tichka to Ouarzazate. Free time for lunch. Departure along the Route of the Thousand Kasbahs, where we can admire from the vehicle the beauty of the “Skoura Palm Grove” until we reach Kelaa de los Mguna (Valley of the Roses), a famous small town where an exceptionally fragrant rose is grown .

Here we will take a break to take photos and have a drink if you want. The Route of the Kasbahs in the South of the High Atlas is a “3-day tour from Marrakesh to Fes” and passes through a series of mud-brick fortresses with crenellated towers and rough-brick decorations, some of which are authentic fortified villages. They lie in a spectacular landscape where desert and mountains meet and combine all shades of ocher and red. While the ancient kasbahs seduce with their evocative power, the landscape is characterized by the strength of its contrasts, its light and its silence. Arrive in the Dades River Valley. Day 2: DADES VALLEY - TODRA GORGES - DESERT (298 Km)

Breakfast and departure to one of the most beautiful natural landscapes of the trip “3-day tour from Marrakech to Fez”, the gorges of the Todra River, where the river, a narrow gorge with vertical walls over 300 meters high has eroded. A true paradise for climbers. We enter the interior of the gorge to admire its spectacular beauty. We stop for lunch along the way. Then departure into the desert. The path becomes more and more challenging and the cities we pass through become more and more authentic until we reach the area of the people of the desert, the Amazigh people, better known as “Berbers”.

Arrive in Erfoud, the main city, built in the pre-Saharan style of Tafilalet including an oasis that covers an area of approximately 5,000 hectares and is home to more than 300,000 date palms. We visit a fossil extraction center where you can admire the variety of aquatic life in the Quaternary period, in what is now the Sahara Desert. We continue our three day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga (Erg Chebi) via Fez. Here you have the option of a dromedary excursion to watch the sunset in the dunes. Depending on your selection when making your reservation, you will receive dinner and overnight stay in a hotel or camp at the foot of the dunes.

Day 3: Merzouga – Midelt – Ifrane (Middle Atlas Mountains) – Fez (462.0 km)

We travel along the Ziz River through Er-Rachadia to the stunning Ziz Gorge and its vast date palm plantations. During your three-day tour from Marrakech to Fez in Morocco, you’ll begin a trek north. You leave the Sahara and climb into the High Atlas Mountains. Your Morocco itinerary takes you through Midelt and further into Morocco’s Middle Atlas Mountains. Once we finally cross the mountainous landscape to reach the former imperial capital of Fez, the road takes us into Morocco’s Middle Atlas Mountains, past the mountain communities of Azrou and Ifrane and through cedar, oak and pine forests. While staying in one of Morocco’s magnificent riads, you can experience the medieval ambience of this royal city of Fes.

The experience compared to the price is really hard to forget. You see many places, viewpoints, guided tours (the most beautiful one in the Berber village and in the Todra gorge). Obviously the highlight of the whole is the camel ride in the desert, wonderful. In the evening typical music and dancing around the fire, and then to sleep in the tents in the desert.
